Revival in U.S. value stocks seen as just getting started

Look for a rally in U.S. value stocks to last into next year, according to UBS Group AG’s Global Wealth Management unit. The firm cited the relationship between the Russell 1000 value and growth indexes -- which use earnings, revenue and asset values to classify companies -- in a report Thursday. The value-growth ratio has climbed as much as 9 percent since Sept. 27, when it reached the lowest level since December 2001, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. UBS Global Wealth wrote that its outlook reflects a preference for energy and financial stocks, which make up about a third of the value index.
